Navigation & Maneuvering Systems
Product Description
These systems control the vessel's movement and position.
- Autopilot Systems: Automatically maintains a set course or follows a pre-planned route (waypoints).
- Equipment: Control head/processor, course computer, heading sensor (gyrocompass), GPS/GNSS receiver, rate-of-turn indicator, wind sensor.
- Dynamic Positioning (DP) Systems: Automatically maintains a vessel's position and heading by using its own thrusters and propellers, without anchors. Crucial for offshore support vessels, drill ships, and cable layers.
- Equipment: DP controller, multiple position reference systems (GPS, DGPS, laser, sonar), motion reference units (MRUs), wind sensors, thruster control panels.
- Track Control Systems: An advanced autopilot that precisely follows a navigational route, compensating for drift and environmental forces.
- Integrated Bridge System (IBS): A centralized system that combines navigation, control, and monitoring functions onto a few standardized HMI (Human-Machine Interface) workstations on the bridge.
